    Description

    TURQUOISE PROVENANCE:
The turquoise this is made with came from the
    'LARRY COOLEY'
1950's-'60's mined turquoise collection..Larry was known in the industry as the ‘go-to' turquoise guy’ who was known for having
    THE
biggest, the highest quality-the most incredible collection of premium turquoise out of anyone,so that when designers like Federico would come along to buy,he could use these gems for his own jewelry designs.
Federico & Larry were extremely close & were such good friends,so much so that before Larry passed,he requested that his huge & HIGHLY collectible collection of vintage mined turquoise be passed on to Federico because Larry knew that Federico was the best one who would put these stones to the best of their use. Federico of course, put these stones into some of his most incredibly designed pieces you'll ever see (This necklace is just one example!) & once they're used up,they're gone..(See my Federico necklace, earrings, bracelet listings)
Larry had a big reputation for his turquoise & all you had to do was say "Larry Cooley Turquoise" & that alone, said it all..

    DESCRIPTION:
I am truly at a loss for words each time I look at this necklace & it brings me back to the day when many of these mines were still open & this quality was readily available! It's literally a turquoise connoisseurs dream! Now, you even can't touch most of this turquoise that has this quality unless it's from vintage jewelry,or by paying top $$$$ per carat for it! I have carried & do carry many pieces from Larry Cooley's collection & while I appreciate each & every one,I have to say, this one makes my mouth water!
This necklace is the perfect example of the quality & wonderful cuts that Larry had in his collection & not only is this made with a
    VERY
select "SAMPLER" pick from many of our top USA mines, but it's the quality that each one of these cuts have!! Many of these mines have since closed down since this turquoise was mined & many hold their own when it comes to the 'Collectible Factor'..(Just some in this: Morenci, Blue Gem,Pilot Mountain,Bisbee, #8, Candeleria,Royston Turquoise,Kingman, etc) Being these mines produce different colors, with some producing bright vibrant blues, some producing teal blues, some with earthy brown matrix, while others produce black matrix, contributes to the amazing contrast this has throughout! It's like a 'mosaic medley' of colors!

    THE DESIGN:
This is made with an alternating pattern of 5 -2 rectangular stone drops & 4 single oval cuts.(Per side) Each of these has different turquoise per section, with NO 2 matching! Each of these cuts are on the 'generous' side & are not skimpy at all & each size was given careful consideration when the design was being laid out.
Each panel is connected by “O” rings for movement (Including the 2 stone panels) & the necklace is finalized with 3 single cuts per side & ends with a 1-1/2" extender chain per side..If you wear this at it's longest length,(23-1/2") it should slip over most heads without using the hook & eye closure.
This is a ‘one-of-a-kind necklace without another like it & if your tastes are for the "Finer" pieces that the southwest offers, I can give you my word that this is a necklace that stands appreciation for it's top notch quality & look & is good enough to be passed down from generation to generation!

In order to give you close up photos, pictures can tend to make the item look much more larger & more magnified than in actuality.Close up's can make the item look even larger & then you get the item in hand & say,"it looked much larger in the photos!"So to get a accurate idea of how big this is,please pull out a tape measure & compare to my given measurements, as well as viewing it on the mannequin.
If you find the item is not as great as I think it is,it does not mean the item is 'not as described'!
