My introduction to
jaos
began as a student  completing  my clinical internship.  One of my teachers, a doctor from China, overheard  me discussing my work with horses.  He asked me if I also worked on race horses, and when I mentioned that I did, his face lit up.  He grabbed a sheet of paper and wrote out a formula in
pin yin
(phonetic Chinese) and with a wink, this serious, no none sense doctor handed me what became my first
jao
formula.  He said with a grin: “good for racehorses!”  Much later I later discovered that he was a racing enthusiast and spent weekends at the track.  This moment in the clinic began my exploration into the world of
da dit jaos
and their many variations and uses.
