Offered is an early program that includes the young singing sensation, Elvis Presley.A fledgling Elvis was in good company at the very start of his career, although it was not long before he overshadowed even the most well-known country star.
Before he became the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, his sound was initially categorized under country. The 1956 Country and Western Souvenir Program has Elvis featured on page 14 where he is described: “Already a fabulous figure in the entertainment world, young Elvis has found national fame and scores of fans via appearances on national television shows. Credited with being on of the first to bring rock n’ roll rhythms to folk music.”
